The Pine Cone Project

Pine Cone History

"Pine Cone" was founded in response to an August 2007 arson fire that destroyed historic pews and ancient Hebrew books in Albany's Pine Hills neighborhood.

Concept: The natural Pine Cone, releasing its seeds after a fire, symbolizes healing, growth and renewal.

The "Pine Cone" projects organizes communal projects, forums and events promoting tolerance, develop personal esteem, and mutual respect reaching out to all Capital Region children and regardless of affiliation.

Pine Cone Mission

Our mission is to provide safe supervised after-school enrichment & recreation programs  for elementary school children ages 3 to 14, during the academic year, and over the summer when there is no school.

Pine Cone Vision

Children need a safe after-school place with caring, responsible adults and engaging activities connecting them to their school, family and community.
