Rabbi Israel Rubin Dean
Dean of the Maimonides Hebrew Day School of the Capital District, Rabbi Israel Rubin studied at the Rabbinical College of Canada, was ordained by the United Lubavitch in Brooklyn NY, serves as Spiritual Leader of Congregation Shomray Torah, and is active a spectrum of Capital Region communal organizations and concerns since 1974.
Rabbi Rubin founded the Capital Region Chabad Outreach Centers, and is author of the “Albany Haggadah” and “Blossoms” on Ethics, editor of the “Holiday Guide” and the creative educational “Torah Times” weekly, is involved with various outreach programs at the Shabbos House Rohr Student Center.
Mrs. Marcia Rosenfield Administrator & General Studies Principal
Marcia Rosenfield received her B.S. and M.S. in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from SUNY Plattsburgh and more than 30 graduate credits in School Administration at UAlbany. She taught in the Albany and Bethlehem school districts, at Albany Dioceses Catholic Schools, and also taught abroad for the US Army and Navy in Germany and in the Philippines. At Catholic Schools she served as Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, Curriculum and Supervision. She is a former past President of the Board of Directors for the Montessori School of Albany and for the Heldeberg Workshop. Marcia loves to travel. She has been to California and Hawaii, Nova Scotia in Canada, Japan and China and many European countries. She loves nature, and enjoys a hike in the woods during any season, cross-country skiing in the winter-time, kyaks on the lakes and enjoys reading non-fiction and mysteries. For the past 12 years Marcia has been the General Studies Principal and Administrator at Maimonides Hebrew Day School.
