"The Syringa Tree" Play
at Capital Repertory Theatre

where Maimonides Girls High went with their English teacher Mrs. Barbara
Rossi to see the acclaimed play of "The Syringa Tree."
Maimonides Students Mushky Rubin, Shaindy Klein, and
Devorah Chaya Seigal take a picture with the sole-actress of the play "The
Syringa Tree" Stephanie Cozart. The autobiographical play was written by
Paula Gien, based on her childhood while growing up in apartheid South
Africa. Mrs. Rossi (English Teacher) and Mrs. Rosenfield (Principal)
accompanied the girls to the play. The girls went right after Shaindy Klein
returned from a trip to her birth place of South Africa.
A group picture of the High School Girls in front of the
stage to "The Syringa Tree" at the Cap Rep Theatre. The talented actress
Stephanie Cozart portrayed almost thirty characters by herself. The stage
was set with an African style motif, there was also African music preceding
the play.
